DAVID WERNER

Mr. David Werner is recognized as one of the foremost experts in Marketing Senior-Level Executive Talent. As noted in the Wall Street Journal and The Financial Times, David Werner International Corporation (DWIC) holds a distinguished global client portfolio highlighted by a 30-year history of success. As President and co-founder of DWIC, he is most recognized for his ability to define a personal brand for C-level executives by selectively and effectively leveraging and marketing his clients on a global level. His expertise on employment matters has been featured in Forbes magazine in an article entitled “Headhunters in Reverse,” and he hasreceived broadcast attention on both FNN and CNN channels. David Werner plays an instrumental role in maneuvering throughout the global business network in harmony with industry trends and market climate on behalf of Senior Executives.

Mr. Werner was born in England, where he excelled at the prestigious Stowe School in Buckingham and served in the British Army, becoming the youngest military officer in the Royal Artillery at that time. He is fluent in French and German, and his academic credentials expanded to include double Bachelors degrees in Accounting and Economics from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

Mr. Werner’s career began in the wool business in Yorkshire, England: the center of the world’s wool and textile processing industry. While assisting the family business, R.L. Werner Ltd., he took on the responsibility of strengthening global operations in Australia and New Zealand. During this period, the Company was acquired by a large British public company, Aire Wool Limited, and he was appointed Managing Director of the Australian subsidiary based in Sydney.  In addition to buying and exporting wool from Australia to the U.K parent, Werner was one of the first to identify the rapidly growing wool textile processing industry in Taiwan, Japan, Korea and China where he established a strong portfolio of international customers. His drive played a critical role in positioning Aire Wool to become the largest British supplier of wool to Taiwan and South Korea.

Mr. Werner was recruited as Manager of Marketing Research by the International Wool Secretariat in 1971 and relocated to London where he played a strategic role in differentiating wool from synthetic fibers. The pure wool brand identity and symbol grew to achieve more than 90% recognition in Europe and North America. Woolmark’s success as “The World’s #1 Textile Brand” was so dominant that competing fiber producers, represented by the American Cotton Board, imitated its brand and marketing strategies. Mr. Werner was employed at the International Wool Secretariat for six years, at which time he earned accreditation as an Economist with the United Nations (UNCTAD).

David Werner was enticed to relocate to the United States in 1977 upon being recruited as an Economist and Director of Market Research by the world’s leading gold mining company. Consolidated Goldfields’ American subsidiary, Azcon Corporation, primarily focused on the processing, marketing and distribution of steel. After leaving Azcon, Werner met John Crystal, one of the early contributors to Richard N. Bolles’ book “What Color is Your Parachute?” The two joined forces to launch Crystal-Werner Corporation, which evolved into DWIC in 1988 after the passing of his partner.

Today, DWIC echoes the original vision and mission established during the inception of  Crystal-Werner, which is to create a confidential and effective forum for marketing quality intangibles: Senior Executives. David Werner continues to be recognized as the expert and driving force when it comes to marketing Senior-level Executives.

Mr. Werner currently resides in New York with his wife. He is a proud U.S. citizen today and has three grown children. His passion for work and family extend to include classical music, classic cars and six grandchildren.
